Have an Android Phone with Marshmallow (Android Version 6) or above and want to setup Googles Assistant? Follow the below steps…


Make sure your device is running Android 6.0 or higher.
You must set the Language on your device to English US if you require other language then this method won’t work
Now go back Settings -> Google -> click the three-dot menu on top right – > Help & feedback – > Click on the three-dot menu -> View in Google Play Store.
Google play store will launch with Google Play services page. Scroll down to the bottom to find an option to join the Beta Programme by clicking “I am in”.
Now go to the Google App in the Play Store and do the same as above to sign up for beta program.
You must wait for about an hour before you are enrolled to google beta program, you don’t have to do anything just wait. Keep checking play store for updates, and you should see an update pushed for Google App, till then just wait.
Once updated now clear the data for both Google Play services and Google App from Settings- > Apps -> and then Storage -> click Clear Data
Now go to home screen and long press the home Button which will start the Google App. Sign up, then go to Menu -> Settings -> You should see Google Assistant Settings. If not something is wrong and you still don’t have Google Assistant, retry the whole procedure.
Now set up Google Assistant and Enjoy the personal digital helper!!

Why I fell in love with my assistant!  You heard it right! Who wouldn't love an always available, prompt, intelligent, punctual and well organised assistant by your side unconditionally? Well, this Android assistant is just one of a kind, perfect for the job atleast for me! Known as Google Assistant, is one of the so called "digital assistant" available for mobile devices in this case for Google's Android Phones. I was skeptical and reluctant to use it at the begining as I always felt these features are more of a gimmick than the useful thing for general public. But this time I was wrong. It is in fact a very intuitive, context based and as and when required information being pushed by the assistant as opposed to "pull" architecture which was tried on google now and other earlier iterations of assistants. It really makes most of my work and personal data management on the tip of my fingers... ooops!! ...I meant to say ...on tip of my tongue really 😀

Destination: Orange County Coorg

I love travelling, specifically I am a historic place traveler, I like exploring and places where lot of physical activity type of travel is involved, because most of the places are buried in the ruins and you need to explore. But this time I choose a different menu, I did choose a place which is famous for relaxation. I had been hearing lot of stuff and hype about people visiting ‘Orange County’. So finally packed our stuff. Journey: Basically this trip was for my family of 4. Since I am from Mangalore, it’s about driving distance (about 170kms).  Started from Mangalore at about 8:00 AM; since the HW 88 is now better than before was able to reach small town ‘Sullia’ at about 10:30. Had our break and light food and started out to Madikeri(Coorg). Next step is crossing the western ghat(region called ‘Sampage’).
